The fourth Friends-sponsored Live from the Library program on 7/21/23 featured Glenda Howell from Art-Z-Faces. Over 70 attendees sat enthralled as she twisted balloons into art, both large and small.
There were tiny dogs, flower, fish and fishing pole, unicorn headband, the Little Mermaid, space zapper, rose bracelet, fire-breathing dragon, and a knight’s shield, helmet, and sword.
As she worked, Glenda talked about her background and balloon safety. At the beginning, there was a funny segment where she pretended not to know how to blow up a balloon and the children had to talk her through it.
No one left empty-handed, as all the children received a piece of balloon art, whether it was one of the aforementioned pieces or their choice of a sword or poodle. Those who received a sword immediately engaged in spirited swordplay with their siblings or parents. A good time was had by all!
