All Duval library locations will be closed Thursday September 26, 2024, due to the threat of severe weather from Hurricane Helene. The decision to extend closures of some or all locations will be made as necessary as the storm progresses.

For your safety, please do not return any library materials to book drops during the storm. There are no overdue fines so there is no need to risk your safety or risk damage to the books if there is water intrusion.

Tropical Storm Helene was upgraded to a Category 1 hurricane today before noon and is expected to hit Florida’s Big Bend late tomorrow. It has the potential to become a very destructive Category 3 storm with a wind swath of over 400 miles when it hits Florida.
Sounds like the perfect day to stay home and read!
