To all the Volunteers and Supporters of the Friends of the Beaches Branch Library Book Sale:
As always, the volunteers have worked tirelessly. And our supporters have found and purchased all those treasures that have been put out for their perusal.
And, once more, the sale is a tremendous success because of all of you.
The volunteers spend many hours before the sale sorting, boxing and storing books. They are sorted twice: once to weed out books not fit for sale. And then put into categories.
Novels are sorted alphabetically to make it easier to find. They are stored at an off-site storage unit. At book sale time, books are brought back to the library again to be sorted and placed out for viewing.
This takes many hours of labor. Before this is set to go, a Volunteer Coordinator and his aids line up more volunteers who come in to keep all the items for sale in good viewing order, and the cashiers who help with purchasing.
THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS!
